West Bromwich Albion have confirmed the signing of defender Nolan Galves from French outfit Rodez AF on a four-year contract.

Albion have been in desperate need of a right-back this summer following the departure of Crystal Palace loanee Danny Imray at the end of last season and have identified and recruited Galves as a player who can operate in James Morrison’s desired system.

Galves, of Sochaux’s academy, has spent the last two years at Ligue 2 side Rodez and has made 13 goal contributions in 68 appearances since joining from Sochaux.

He had a single year left on his contract with Rodez and helped them to a fifth-placed finish last season. Albion, ahead of Championship rivals including Southampton, Millwall and Queens Park Rangers, have taken advantage to bring the player to England’s second tier.
