About
By Steve Tudgay, Full Throstle Editor
Welcome to Full Throstle, a brand-new digital home built by Baggies fans - for Baggies fans.
Football media is changing. For a club like ours, mainstream coverage means a single headline or a brief goals package on a highlights show.
The Birmingham Evening Mail - the newspaper Joe and I both worked for – no longer even employs a reporter to cover the Albion.
We deserve better; a dedicated space that captures the unique pulse of The Hawthorns. This is why we have created Full Throstle.
Our name is a nod to our historic nickname and also a declaration of intent. To be Full Throstle is to be unwavering in our passion for the club.
We’re not here to churn out clickbait or copy-and-paste press releases. Our goal is to provide sharp, independent coverage that respects the intelligence of the Albion fan base.
We aim to be opinionated, fair and accurate. Whenever you check in with us, we aim to deliver:
- Quality match analysis with player ratings. When our throstle flies high, we will celebrate; when our wings are clipped, we will question why
- Transfer news with credible updates on incoming and outgoing players
- Key takeaways from pre and post-match manager press conferences
- Long-form articles with current players and future stars from our academy
- A deep-dive into our rich history with nostalgic features on legendary former players from Cyrille Regis, Laurie Cunningham and Brendon Batson to Zoltan Gera, Andy Hunt and ‘Super Bobby’ Taylor
We want to hear from you too. Through our comment sections, fan polls, and social channels, your voice will help shape the conversation.
Wherever your perch – whether it’s a seat at The Hawthorns or whether you follow from afar - Full Throstle is designed to serve all Albion supporters.
