Albion surrendered the Black Country Derby bragging rights in farcical fashion as they signed off for the international break with a 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

The only goal of the game came when Fer Lopez capitalised on a dreadful Nat Phillips error in the Albion defence and turned the ball past goalkeeper Max O’Leary who was, unquestionably, the Baggies’ man of the match following a staggering string of first-half saves.

Albion, simply, didn’t do enough over the course of the piece to trouble Wolves at the back, nor could they justifiably complain about the outcome of the game which might have taken an uglier appearance but for O’Leary’s contribution.
