Albion continued their pre-season preparations with a routine 4-1 victory over Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
Jimmy-Jay Morgan scored a first half brace after Albion academy product Harry Whitwell had opened the scoring in fine style from outside of the penalty area. Isaac Fletcher responded for Salop, but Aune Heggebø contributed a fourth late in the day to restore the Baggies’ three-goal advantage.
Almost half of the first-team squad had stayed at the Walsall training ground on Saturday to participate in another friendly, a 3-1 defeat to Notts County - the likes of Nat Phillips, Krystian Bielik, Jayson Molumby, Mikey Johnston and Barney Stewart - the latter who scored - all got work-outs.
