How James Morrison’s rotation policy has helped shape Albion's early season

Albion boss James Morrison has not been afraid to rotate and utilise his squad so far this season

James Morrison has, at no stage this season, had any problems in making changes to his team.

Albion made ten signings in the summer, all of them on a permanent basis, and all have been utilised at various points in the opening quarter of the season - compare that to last term, where Morrison’s predecessor Ryan Mason was often more conservative in his selection policy.

The club have recruited a certain profile of player this summer, an approach which has collectively reduced the average age of the squad and, with it, fresh energy and athleticism.

Still, the Championship can unapologetically be a horses for courses division and Morrison selects game to game dependent on the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent, as well as with the intention of giving Albion themselves the best chance to win any given match.
