If James Morrison wrote down the worst preparation for his team in the 72 hours before Norwich, it would not have been as bad as it really was.
After a smooth and meticulous summer build-up, selling your captain and having your top-scorer in bed with food poisoning on the eve of the season, would only have figured in his biggest nightmares. But somehow Morrison navigated both problems to put three points in the bank and get Albion's season off to a flying start.
Plenty of fear-the-worst Albion fans were predicting no wins from the first trio of games against Norwich, Burnley and Middlesbrough and would've snatched off the hand of Hegg for three points from the three.
