Albion's opening day opponents Norwich are one of the clubs circling as Harry Whitwell's immediate future is decided.

Whitwell is in the final year on his current deal and manager James Morrison has gone on record as saying he wants to keep the 20 year-old midfielder. He was rewarded for a string of good pre-season performances with a start at Rotherham, scoring and assisting in the 4-1 Carabao Cup romp.

His substitution at half-time was described as a precaution after he picked up a slight calf injury but it's hoped he'll be available for Saturday's Carrow Road curtain-raiser.
