Toby Collyer out until December with the hamstring injury sustained against Blackburn

Albion today confirmed Collyer will be sidelined for the next 5-6 weeks meaning he could miss up to 10 games. It is a huge blow for manager James Morrison who said he blamed himself for 'not listening' to club medics about risks of playing him last weekend.

Confirmation that Toby Collyer will miss the next five to six weeks with a hamstring injury is a massive disappointment but not a big surprise.

Scans revealed the strain is serious enough to probably rule him out of a crucial eight to ten-game period of the season, up to mid-December.

Morrison immediately took the blame for the injury, saying in his post-Blackburn press conference that he 'should have listened' to the warnings from club medics about starting the former Manchester United midfielder for the third time in eight days.

'The injury's on me, I didn't listen really, I should've listened,' said the Albion boss. 'Obviously playing three games in a week was a big ask. It was in my mind to play him for an hour or maybe 45 minutes because he would be important for us.'
