Twelve months after signing for West Bromwich Albion for the first time, Toby Collyer could be set to return - this time for keeps.
Indeed it was a year ago this week that Collyer ventured out away from Manchester United for the first time in his fledgling career, in the hope he could garner appropriate experience at a high level. Things didn’t go to plan, clearly.
Ironically, the midfielder concluded his first season away from Old Trafford, having joined from Brighton in 2022, with promotion having switched from The Hawthorns to Hull midway through the campaign.
Collyer was cursed with injuries for his short stay in the Black Country. He made only three starts in half a season, the most notable coming in the home win over Preston North End in which he picked up an assist - and his first set-back.
