Mikey Johnston was perfect option for Albion situations but returns with point to prove

Albion winger Mikey Johnston will be missing for the coming period having suffered an ankle set-back - an absence James Morrison has felt so far

James Morrison expects that Mikey Johnston will return to Albion action in due course with a ‘point to prove’.

By Morrison’s own admission Albion have missed the influence of winger Johnston at times this season, especially in those home games where Albion have dominated but will have left the Hawthorns turf feeling as though they had dropped points on the balance of play.

Irish international Johnston injured his ankle in February at Oxford United, in Morrison’s first game in interim charge following the sacking of Eric Ramsay and then suffered a recurring issue at the beginning of this campaign, having appeared in the EFL Cup win at Rotherham United.
