Albion still await clarity on when they might expect to have winger Mikey Johnston available to them following the winger’s absence at the beginning of this new season.
Johnston appeared in pre-season and then featured from the bench in Albion’s 4-1 EFL Cup win over Rotherham United at the beginning of August, but he has since suffered a set-back with the ankle problem which ended his campaign in February of last season - in James Morrison’s first outing as interim boss, the 2-1 loss to Oxford United.
The Irish international is still no closer to making what would be a welcome return to training and all involved continue to wait to learn the severity of Johnston’s relapse and see how his recovery progresses from here.
