James Morrison is a manager who likes to keep a lid on things, but even he made it crystal clear on Tuesday just how pleased he was that Albion had managed to secure Toby Collyer’s return on a permanent basis.
Midfielder Collyer has rejoined Albion, for whom he played the first half of last season on loan, from Manchester United for a fee worth in the region of £3m and that is despite the fact that the former Brighton youngster had Premier League interest.
Collyer was bullish in his signing interview with the club about how valued he was made to feel by Albion as they pursued a long-term deal this summer and it was interest which endeared the Baggies as a viable destination.
