Fears confirmed as Mikey Johnston ruled out for 'extended' period with ankle injury

Albion's fears over Mikey Johnston have been confirmed with the Republic of Ireland winger ruled out of action for an 'extended period' due to a fresh injury to the same troublesome ankle.
Johnston will not require another operation but is now on a sustained treatment plan that is hoped will see him return early in the New Year.
It's a cruel setback for the player who picked up the initial injury in James Morrison's first game in temporary charge last season, at Oxford. He missed all of the last 11 games but appeared to be on his way back when he came on a substitute at Rotherham in the Carabao Cup last month and was named on the bench for the opening League game at Norwich.
