Harry Whitwell is expected to end speculation over his future at The Hawthorns by signing a new contract this week. Full Throstle understands he will put pen to paper on a new four-year deal.
The 20 year-old Albion academy product, who is in the final year of his current contract, has been in excellent form so far this season and played a starring role in Saturday's 1-0 win against Watford.
Whitwell was sent out on loan to National League side Forest Green Rovers last season and there was a belief he would probably find another temporary home this term for more first team experience.
But James Morrison gave him starts in every pre-season game and backed up his faith in the Oxford-born midfielder by selecting him for the first four games of the season against Norwich, Burnley, Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
