Albion hit by Nolan Galves blow after knee surgery is confirmed

Albion right-back Nolan Galves suffered a serious knee injury in the win over Derby in September and has had an operation

Nolan Galves will miss the rest of his maiden season with West Bromwich Albion after it was confirmed by the club that the right-back suffered a serious knee injury while playing in Albion’s victory over Derby County last month.

Galves, a summer signing from Rodez who had established himself as James Morrison’s first choice in the early stages of the campaign, came off the bench after fellow right-back and debutant Brayann Pereira had been sent off on his debut.

Shortly after the second half had commenced, though, Galves fell awkwardly while challenging for the ball and needed help in departing the field.
