It was typical James Morrison as he reflected on the start of his 20th year at West Bromwich Albion with a quiet sense of personal satisfaction. The phrases 'happy' and 'hard work' are never too far away from his lips.
'It's a surreal feeling knowing that you've gone from the young boy who left Middlesbrough at 21 to becoming the head coach of this historic football club,' said the softly-spoken Scot in his first pre-match presser of the new season.
'I turned into a bit of a man by moving down here on my own, finding my feet. Sometimes as player you need that, to get away from your home comforts and having a manager like Tony Mowbray was just what I needed.'
