West Bromwich Albion kept up their early 100% record in the Championship with a fabulous 3-1 home victory over promotion fancies Burnley on Sunday. Harry Whitwell, one of our own, was on the score-sheet in the Championship for the first time before Isaac Price’s brace sealed matters. Callum Styles had earlier turned into his own net, but no matter - Albion fully merited this victory.
Albion were on top but still found themselves behind after eight minutes when the ball was turned over in Burnley’s defensive third; Felix Horn Myhre had reason to believe he was fouled, but the referee waved the appeals away and the Clarets bounded forwards. Marcus Edwards lost three Albion midfielders and spread the play to Jacob Bruun Larsen, whose centre was turned into his own goal by Styles.
