Barney Stewart is the furthest thing imaginable from your archetypal young centre forward.
While many strikers are spotted by academy scouts at a young age and introduced to life in the footballing bubble, Stewart - at the same age - was still just enjoying football for what it was.
To Stewart, it was just another sport he participated in while growing up in west London; along with football, he dabbled in rugby, tennis and Gaelic football. It was only when he was at university in Edinburgh did the former emerge at the forefront and a professional career became a possibility.
Even then, when it is the seventh tier of Scottish football, there still remains quite a journey in front of you before you can consider, as a player, that you have ‘made it’.
