Max O'Leary is ready to establish himself as Albion's undisputed number one

While there remain gaps to fill right the way through West Bromwich Albion’s skinny-looking squad with still a number of weeks remaining of this summer transfer window, one particular department has already been addressed - and perhaps with minimal surgery still to be anticipated.

Albion ended last season with Max O’Leary as the undisputed number one. Josh Griffiths, in the win over Bristol City - ironically against the then injured O’Leary’s former club - was granted a glimpse of first-team action, but once fit again O’Leary was instantly restored.

The Irish international contributed to a strong run of form at the back end of the campaign which secured Albion’s Championship status, which had been under severe threat, and he was rewarded with a three-year deal as a result.
