If I told you that Albion had made 38 loan signings since the summer of 2018, how many would you deem to have been successes?
It has been a hot topic in recent years, Albion’s use of the loan market. There have been players who have promised plenty but have delivered little, Premier League youngsters who have looked a little out of their depth but, amongst that pile, the odd gem.
Of the 38, there have been players who just never made an impact - Jefferson Montero, Chris Willock, Callum Marshall, Will Lankshear and Hindolo Mustapha.
Others have returned for more (Filip Krovinovic and Mason Holgate) while Albion used loans as a try-before-you-buy scheme with Grady Diangana, Matheus Pereira, Jayson Molumby, Okay Yokuslu, Callum Robinson and Mikey Johnston, but some have just been rank bad failures (Jordan Hugill and Uros Racic).
