Judging by West Bromwich Albion’s performance at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, boss James Morrison has a real call to make on the immediate future of Harry Whitwell.
The midfielder scored the opening goal, a terrifically executed finish, in the comfortable 4-1 pre-season win over the League Two opponents and, in general, caught the eye with an accomplished performance.
Whitwell, who turns 21 in November, spent the first half of last season at non-league Forest Green Rovers having enjoyed some first-team exposure at Albion under former boss Carlos Corberan and tore it up under Robbie Savage before being summoned back in the midst of a Baggies injury crisis in the winter.
