Celtic legend Martin O'Neill praises Albion's new first team coach Gavin Strachan

When you’re a Strachan there aren't not many people alive today with a name more revered as a Celtic manager. But there is one – Martin O’Neill. And the current Parkhead boss has spoken to Full Throstle about Albion’s new first team coach, Gavin Strachan, son of Gordon.
For those assuming Strachan Snr hired his lad to join him when he was in charge at Celtic, think again. Gavin spent six years as coach for the Glasgow giants, joining in 2020 when he was bought in by Neil Lennon to replace Damien Duff. He was so highly regarded that he stayed on after Lennon’s departure and worked under Ange Postecoglu, Brendan Rodgers and O’Neill until this summer. His father Gordon’s successful reign at Celtic came much earlier; he won six trophies in four years for the club between 2005-09.
